Kayla joined Menlo Ventures in August 2013 and leads our Network Development efforts. Kayla mobilizes our ecosystem and builds community across our portfolio and professional networks. These efforts focus around the mutual benefit of all those close to Menlo with a variety of cross-industry programs. Our Menlo Fuel C-Suite Series features industry leaders and subject matter experts who guide professional / leadership development training and peer learning opportunities across all major functional areas relevant to company growth and success including engineering, finance, growth, HR, marketing, product, and sales.
Menlo Fuel also steers optimal matching between our companies and the needs of corporate partners. Our team spearheads these introductions through our Executive Briefing Center (EBC), focused on connecting portfolio companies with corporate buyers. With nearly 100 portfolio companies seeking to both serve and understand the needs of the top enterprise buyers searching for creative solutions to help run their businesses more efficiently, a typical session consists of a half-day discovery meeting for select portfolio companies to pitch their solutions to senior IT executives and decision makers. These live demos are an effective approach to sharing our portfolio of solutions in an easily consumable format, leading to deeper dive follow-up meetings when solutions match the needs of the corporate client.
Additionally, Kayla builds relationships and facilitates connections across Menlo’s vast ecosystem of domain expertise, bringing together industry experts, portfolio executives, and strategic partners to discuss the state of emerging technologies and future roadmaps. She also leads our internal network and stakeholder efforts including Menlo’s Annual Limited Partners Meeting, offsite retreats, and departmental team-building activities that reinforce cultural vision and firmwide goals to drive results and continued relationship development. Before joining Menlo, she worked for TPG Special Opportunities Partners and RS Investments’ Institutional Sales Division. Kayla holds a bachelor of arts in business entrepreneurship and public relations from the University of St. Thomas.
